Choosing a flag

Feather flags

Feather flags are tall, narrow flags on a flexible pole, made to move in the wind and catch attention from the road or across a field. They come in 9, 13 and 15 foot overall heights; the taller the flag, the farther away it can be seen.

The shape changes the look and how much area you have to print: concave, straight and convex flags have a curved top, angled flags a slanted one, tear drop flags a rounded, compact shape, and rectangle flags the most usable area for text.

Single or double sided

A single sided flag is printed once and the ink passes through the fabric, so the back shows a mirror image of the front. That works well for logos and graphics. Choose double sided when the flag has text that needs to read correctly from both directions, such as along a street.

Picking hardware

Every package includes the pole and a carry bag. A ground spike pushes into grass or soil; a cross base stands on hard surfaces such as pavement or indoor floors; a water bag sits over the cross base to add weight on windy days. Packages that include both a spike and a base cover you for any surface. Choose flag only if you are replacing a flag on hardware you already have.

Header flags

A header flag is a classic rectangular flag with a reinforced header strip along one edge for attaching it to a flag pole. It comes in sizes from 2' × 3' to 5' × 8', in landscape or portrait.

Artwork, proofs and turnaround

Choose Mockup Request on any product and describe what you want, and one of our designers builds it, or send a mockup request with your logos. Either way you get a proof to approve before anything is printed, and production starts once the proof is approved and the order is paid.

Most orders are produced in 5–10 business days; each product page lists its own production time. We print with a set of spot colors that reproduce the most vibrant results; see the color chart. Pantone matching is possible in most cases and may add a fee. There is no minimum order, and volume pricing is available by phone.

Common questions

What's the difference between single and double sided feather flags?

Single sided flags are printed once and show a mirror image on the back. Double sided flags read correctly from both sides, which matters for text.

Which feather flag base do I need?

Use a ground spike on grass or soil and a cross base on hard surfaces. Add a water bag to the cross base for extra weight in wind.

Which feather flag size should I get?

Taller flags are seen from farther away. 9 feet suits storefronts and booths; 13 and 15 feet stand out along roads and at large outdoor events.

Can I order just the printed flag?

Yes. Choose flag only. Check with us that your existing pole matches the flag shape and size.
